vcfo was founded in 1996 to address Austin area companies' needs for expert finance and accounting assistance on an interim or as-needed basis. With 750 clients to date and approximately 150 active engagements today, vcfo is a pioneer in the industry and the premier provider of financial, human resources and systems implementation services for emerging to public companies. vcfo combines its extensive best practices and proven methodologies to help solve each client's most complex financial and operational needs.
Ellen Wood co-founded vcfo (then known as virtualcfo™) with Tommy Deavenport in December 1996 to provide interim financial expertise to early stage technology companies. Though Tommy left the company in 1998, he remains a valued member of the team presently serving on vcfo's Advisory Board.
Expanding beyond Austin beginning in 2001, vcfo now has regional offices in Dallas, Denver, and Seattle.
